503 Service Temporarily Unavailable

  • the server was working fine until a power outage over the weekend now users are receiving this error when they try to login to the webmail or groupware pages. I googled this problem but all I found was a couple posts on a mailing list that didn't help me. The server in question is running ox 0.8.0-6 and when I searched through the logs I found an error that might shed some light on it in the mod_jk.log
    [Thu Mar 08 14:15:45 2007] [error] ajp_service::jk_ajp_common.c (1758): Error connecting to tomcat. Tomcat is probably not started or is listening on the wrong port. worker=ajp13 failed

    well I checked and as far as I can tell tomcat is running. I found multiple instances of it listed in the running processes.
    su tomcat4 -s /bin/bash /srv/ox/bin/openexchange-sessiond
    su tomcat4 -s /bin/bash /srv/ox/bin/openexchange-groupware
    su tomcat4 -s /bin/bash /srv/ox/bin/openexchange-webmail

    I would appreciate any help as I am not the one who set this server up and do not know ins and outs of it yet.

    please let me know if there are any logs that I should post to help sort this out.


  • Set all logging to debug and provide the logs.

    The chance this happened because of the outage is small but exists. Therefor it would be easier to reinstal components, whole system or restore backup.
