Transfer between Changi and JHB airports

    I will be in the Transit hotel at Changi and have an MH flight from JHB to Langkawai at 11:00AM. I read that MH has a bus connection between the two. Is this true? If so, how do I access it? How much time does it take to get between the two airports?

  • Thanks for the reply. My wife is in SIN on a mileage run right now and just emailed me that she went to the Copthorne and secured a reservation on the 8AM bus for my 11 AM flight out of JHB.


  • Just as a followup. My wife visited the Copthorne and made a reservation for me for the bus. The bus for my 11 AM flight from JHB leaves the Copthorne at 8:00 AM. You must be there 30 minutes in advanvce. And you must have a reservation. The bus does not come if there are no reservations.


  • There is no transfer service between the two airports. They are in different countries for one, and if you are connecting to Langkawi from JHB, it's better for you if you fly into KUL and connect from KUL direct to Langkawi instead of from JHB.

    The only way for people to get to JHB from Singapore is to go to the MH City Terminal, located at the Copthorne Orchid Inn Hotel. There will be a bus service there which will take you direct to JHB airport. But you must clear immigration and customs facilities at both Singapore and Malaysian checkpoints, which means getting on and off the bus twice along with your luggage.

    And if you're arriving late, your best bet is to go to the Copthorne Hotel and stay there for the night and depart maybe for JHB at around 7am! I have no idea what the bus schedules are. You can call Malaysia Airlines for that, and in fact, you MUST call them to reserve the Bus Transfer service from Singapore for you!

    For the hassle, it's simply easier to honeslt FLY into Malaysia ie KUL and connect to LGK from there.
