Upgrade policy on CX ....
It was a full flight out of Sydney today, and the staff were in a frenzy obviously upgrding people.
I calmly walked over and asked what their policy is on upgrades. They say :
1) Invitation Members
2) CX - Diamond
3) CX - Gold
4) CX - Silver
5) Oneworld - Emerald
6) Oneworld - Sapphire
Okay - now we know.
I was in First Class anyway...
It's still along the lines of being at least 10 years at diamond membership - though the rules are more vague these days.
If you don't mind me asking, what benefits does one receive as an Invitation member compared to Diamond?
That gave you a lifetime Green Card, but access to F lounges instead of J, two upgrades a year, etc.
It's interesting that Marco Polo Silver come ahead of OW Emerald and Sapphire. I doubt that AA put Plat ahead of Emerald or Gold ahead of Sapphires. But I could be wrong.

I deeply regret the CX upgrade policy and the way OW treat its loyal customers flying in coach... I find CX great for coach travel, even better than SQ ( at least, the FA regularly serve drinks and offer coffee AFTER your meal and not during it, like SQ which means that by the time you're done with your meal your coffee has turned an ice one!)
to sum up, one has more chances to walk on the sea than being upgraded with CX and SQ.
